The inspiration behind the blog

However, what people don’t know is that Harry Potter has been in my life when I have felt the most lonely. Not gonna lie, I wasn’t a fan of books back then but Harry Potter introduced me to a truly magical world. It was when I was around 12-13 years old that I started reading Harry Potter. It soon became my escape place. A place where I could be who I am without any telling me otherwise. The book was not Harry’s journey to fight Voldemort, it was my journey to fight my inner demons. The gang was my gang with whom I could share my sorrows, happiness, excitement, and everything that I felt.

Even today whenever I am feeling blue, Harry Potter is the first thing I turn to. Whether it be reading the books, watching YouTube videos of people collecting HP stuff, looking through my small collection of HP merchandise, or just imagining my future Harry Potter room. Harry Potter is like the Patronus that scares away my dementors. It helps me stay grounded, it helps me know that there are people who care about me out there. It helps me stay motivated to hustle in life, coz the room ain’t gonna build itself.

The books have also taught me some important lessons for example,

“We have all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.” – Sirius Black

This is a quote by Sirius Black and does surely apply to life. There is no white or black, everyone is grey. We can just strive to work towards building a more positive world for ourselves. Working on ourselves and knowing which part to act on, and which path to walk on. Choosing who we are and defining ourselves by the actions we do and nothing else.

“Being different isn’t a bad thing. It just means you are brave enough to be yourself.” – Luna Lovegood

Isn’t this the motivation that we all need right now? All hail Luna Lovegood for preaching the truth on how to be true to your own self. At the end of the day what truly matters is who you are from inside and how proud you are of yourself. Being unique and different is what the world needs right now. No one ever achieved anything by staying inside the box, all of them had to jump outside and be a little different to make a small yet impactful change in the world.

There are many other such instances in the book that help you connect with characters, and understand what is right and what is wrong. J. K. Rowling has written the characters as real people (They are real) who have flaws, and who try to get over them. The part where Ron is jealous of Harry and Hermione is something that a lot of people can relate to, how it feels to be the one that is overlooked by all, how your friends seem to always shine. The books beautifully show how Ron comes out of it and becomes his own person. A person people can rely on, and be grateful for. How the Weasley Twins (One of my favourites) left school and followed their passion; they did not let anything bother them. They stood for what they believed in and lived life to their fullest.

It is a book that gives courage to people to face their own inner demons (It sure helped me).

J. K. Rowling has also beautifully shown that people cannot be classified into certain groups and they will always have overlapping qualities. Harry is the embodiment of Gryffindor and Slytherin, Hermione is Gryffindor and Ravenclaw and Ron is Gryffindor and Hufflepuff.

All I am saying is there is no age for believing in the magic of Harry Potter and finding small moments of joy that it gives.

“It is important to remember we all have magic inside us” – J. K. Rowling

In the end like Harry’s scar did not trouble him, my scars have also started to heal. This blog is just my journey on how mundane things even felt magical once I put on the Spectrespecs.

I would also like to mention @thepottercollector for getting me inspired to write this and giving me the courage to not give up on my dream of collecting.

All was well.
