Mind games with your mind

I recently realised that there are a lot of times when I want to do something, but I am not doing it. I have all the means to do what I want and I know if I do it, it will be for my benefit.

Sometimes I feel I am not capable enough to do the task and I back out. Sometimes I am too lazy to get the work done. Sometimes I make myself preoccupied and busy with other things to not do what I have to. And many other sometimes and reasons and excuses ready to not just do it.

My mind is playing tricks on me and making me not do what my mind had only wanted me to do in the first place. I decided to play mind tricks with my mind and trick it into doing the tasks.

For feeling like I am not capable enough I used the fake it till you make it idea. I motivate myself before doing anything by saying I am the best, I know everything and I can do it; and I then do it.

When feeling lazy, I start by doing small things, little goals make the big goals and then I automatically get energised when I see stuff happening.

You know how we wash dirty clothes and iron them to remove wrinkles; why can’t we do it with ourselves? Remove the dirt, aka the negativity by washing, aka doing something for the mind, like journaling, meditating or exercising and ironing ourselves by gaining knowledge and doing what we want to. (I know this makes no sense, but if you really think about it, it does)

In short, I decided to dive head-first into everything. The first step is the hardest to take but is the most important one you take.
