Life on Extremes

Nature has a beautiful and subtle way of making us realise that nothing is black or white. Every situation, every moment is a shade of grey. It cannot be classified as good or bad, simple or complex, it is nuanced, it is adventurous, and it is what you make of it.

I recently went to Mahabaleshwar and the roads were spiral with rocks and boulders on one side and a cliff on the other. The only path you could take was the road in the middle.

It made me realise that life cannot be lived on extremes; there have to be times when you have to centre yourself and come in the middle. Life on extremes is not always a viable way of living. There are times when intense emotions take control of the situation rather than you taking charge of it.

Balance is the key to unlocking your full potential. Balance is what keeps you going, it makes you centred, calm and collected to tackle any challenges that come your way.

Everything has to have a perfect balance, even while cooking the perfect balance of each spice is what gives the food that taste, aroma and colour. There is nothing in life that does not require a balance.

Balance for everyone is different, what is one’s balance cannot be someone else’s. One has to find their own perfect little balance of life.

“Perfectly balanced like all things should be” – Thanos. Even though he has been portrayed as a villain his words and actions made sense. He knew that without balance there is no life, no creation, and no death. The cycle of life would stop.

Life is like walking on a beam on a high cliff. You need to have balance to walk on it.
